FIRST EVER SUPERSONIC PASSENGER AIRCRAFT- "THE CONCORDE"

As we all know that an Airliner or passenger aircraft is a type of aircraft for transporting passengers, such an aircraft have a normal speed and maintains altitude as of the common commercial aircrafts. But there are are few special aircrafts that are designed to go into higher altitudes and speeds than the normal aircrafts one among them are the supersonic aircrafts.

WHAT ARE SUPERSONIC AIRCRAFTS

A Supersonic aircraft is designed to transport passengers at speeds greater than the speed of sound!!
So Now to the date the only supersonic aircrafts that saw the regular service are CONCORDE and the TUPOLEV Tu-144.

WHAT WAS THE USE OF SUPERSONIC AIRCRAFT WAY BACK IN 90's

The Supersonic aircraft are designed in such a way that it takes lesser time than the other commercial aircraft. Well let me give you example, A normal commercial flight form Paris to New York would take about 6 hours through the Atlantic ocean but the Concorde Flight covered same distance in 3.5 hours. It had cut down the total time taken reach New York.

Let me tell you a very interesting fact it would take 3 hours 15 min to watch the Titanic Movie,so is the total time taken ,by the time you finish the movie you would have reached New York!!

Well Jokes apart Concorde project was started in early 1950 with a budget of over 80 million Dollars. It was actually expected to complete in 1968 but took further more time and finally on the morning of January 21 1976, a pair of Concorde's one each form British Airways and Air France took off Simultaneously on what would be the First commercial Supersonic flights with fare paying passengers

The British Airways jet took off from London's Heath-row Airport bound for Brazil with a stop in Senegal while the Air France flight left Paris Orly Airport headed for Bahrain.Soon after the first flight, its was ordered by many other airliners like the Qantas ,Air India ,Iran Air,Singapore Airlines and many other major airliners.

WHY CONCORDE AIRCRAFT STOPPED ITS SERVICE

A major Incident took place on 25 July 2000, Air France Flight 4590 Crashed in Gonesse,France after departing from Paris-Charles de Gaulle en route John F Kennedy International Airport in New York City, killing all 100 passengers and 9 crew members on board the flight, and the 4 people on the ground. It was the only fatal accident involving Concorde.Soon after this incident in 2003 Concorde flight stopped its service

But Now Several companies have each proposed a supersonic business jet, which may bring supersonic transport back again.
